THE 90S COMEBACK ???

22/6/2020

Are the 90s comeing back ???

Over the past few months I have been busy completing courses and learning new techniques to carry me in to the future of the hair industry and I can not help but notice that the 90s classics are coming back in fashion or have they always been there.
Now in 2020, we have seen a surge in home colouring and that does not need explain as when a pandemic hits everything stops. But as I research more and more I can't help but notice the classic cuts of the 90s. I will defiantly be using what I have learnt and will share my experience with you in the coming weeks but here are a couple of photos to explain what I mean 1990 vs 2020.
When we think back to 1990 we think of the spice girls. But what we have to remember is what was the trend not pigtails and teenage Christina Agulera. Mind you brown and blonde is making a come back. Here are a few 90s styles to help you remember.
2020, hit a lot of the same notes but with more of a wavy twist but the cuts hit the mark just the styling is slightly different. What's your favourite mine is the first picture of the 90s such a 2020 hair trend the big waves through the front gives me all the vibes I need. #AMAZING
Now here are 6 trends of 2020 well for me Jeniffer lopez all the way (clean classy classic).

Opening Soon...

As you are probably aware the Hair & Beauty industry will hopefully be up and running from July and pre-booking is on everyone's mind or to do list

So what can you expect?

Well, there's has been lots of speculation into what the new rules are and what services will be able to go ahead. There seems to be talk of no talking and conversation to be limited well I can tell you now as a Stylist this will be pretty hard as listening to clients requests is a fundamental part to consultation and you all know how I feel about consultation.

Services will be limited again another speculation is that we as a stylist can only provide a limited collection of services to limit the time spent in the salon. I feel that a good hair wash is a key reason for clients to relax and enjoy a good head rub and to ensure all colour has been correctly removed so I am uncertain on a colour dash service. For those unsure what this Service provides, it involves a quick colour slapped on your roots then hurrying you out the door to complete your wash and style at home. HMMMMM. I can see a lot going wrong with this such as colours not developing correctly or over toning if not washed at the correct time or if a reaction was to occur while you are on your way home. let not hold our breath on that becoming popular.

Yes, a dry cut will be put on hold so we are told but I feel this is a good idea as I like to see the hair in it natural state. Meaning no dry shampoo, gel, mousse, hairspray build-ups and also the hair once washed will allow the stylist to work more accurately meaning a better hair cut. But that is my own opinion. Not sure about how the gents will feel about this one.

We as an industry no the importance of welcoming you all back and making the environment as safe as possible allowing you to have a clean and safe visit.

Top tip please leave your coats and bags at home bring only what you need to limit the risk of cross-contamination oh and don't forget your mask.

If you wish to enquire about future appointments please send me an email with your name number and service required and I will be in contact with you as soon as possible.
